University Stores Hosts Collegiate Retailer of The Year Selection Committee

FOR SECOND TIME, WAKE  FOREST  UNIVERSITY  STORES  HOSTS AND PARTICIPATES ON THE  SELECTION  COMMITTEE  FOR  THE COLLEGIATE  RETAILER  OF THE YEAR AWARD

The National Association of College Stores’ Collegiate Retailer of the Year Award recognizes the highest level of collegiate retailing excellence.  It is underwritten by the Tommye and Keith Miller Endowment with a $5,000 award, and sponsored by the National Association of College Stores Foundation. The Miller’s lifelong service to and passion for the college bookstore industry inspired them to endow a prestigious award that would celebrate a dynamic and forward-thinking store’s achievement in the following areas:

  • Maintaining the highest standards of customer service possible;
  • Developing key relationships with faculty, students and administrators;
  • Being creative with merchandising;
  • Using new and emerging technologies;
  • Creating an exciting and inviting store environment;
  • Developing staff to help them reach their career goals;
  • All while supporting the academic mission and helping meet the school’s financial goal

Buz Moser, Executive Director for Business Services and Past President of the National Association of College Stores Foundation Board notes, “University Stores has enjoyed a strong reputation within our industry over the years, and I believe this double honor and privilege of being able to both host and personally participate on the selection committee reflects that.”

Vicki Morris Benion, NACS Foundation Executive Director noted , ” the Foundation is most appreciative of Buz and Wake Forest Bookstore hosting the judging committee as the perfect venue for selecting this most prestigious industry award.”

Along with Moser, the selection committee made up of representatives from the University of Texas, University of Dayton and the College of Wooster, will meet at Graylyn International Conference Center from November 27-29.  Results will be announced in Mid-December.
